Eduardo Jiménez is a second year law student at Cornell, where he specializes in immigration issues. He was raised in San Antonio, Texas, where he attended Catholic elementary and high schools. He graduated
cum laude from Harvard University with a BA in Hispanic Literature (1999), and as an undergraduate he enjoyed a Mellon Foundation Fellowship and a White House Fellowship. Later, he received his doctorate summa cum laude in the same field from Universidad San Pablo-CEU in Madrid, Spain (2004).He wrote a scholarly book on the famed Spanish poet Antonio Machado (The Gospel According to Juan de Mairena, 2004) that was published in Spain, and he translated the complete fiction of award-winning Mexican author, Bruno Estañol, into English (Floricanto Press, 2006). His literary translations have appeared in several publications, including the critically acclaimed anthology of Mexican short stories, Mexico: A Traveler’s Literary Companion, from Whereabouts Press.
